FAQs

Children, Babies and Plus Ones

Babes in arms are very welcome to the wedding, however, unless we have discussed with you directly, unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate children at the wedding. We hope you understand, and can enjoy a child free day celebrating with us.

Due to venue numbers we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless they have already been accounted for in your invitation.

Confetti

Confetti will be provided, as it must be biodegradable.

Dress Code

We would ask guests to wear formal attire, however the wedding isn’t black tie. Suits, kilts and dresses are encouraged.

The reception venue boasts some lovely open fires and underfloor heating so you shouldn’t be cold there, however it is November so you may wish to bring a warm coat for the ceremony in the church.

Parking

Wedding Ceremony: For the wedding ceremony we recommend using the free parking available at Guildenford car park, which is a short, two minute walk from the church. Roadside parking is also available in Burford, but keep an eye out for any timing restrictions.

Wedding Reception: There is ample parking at the reception venue. However please be aware that we have been asked for our guests not to travel through Aldsworth to get there (this won’t actually be a problem coming from the wedding ceremony in Burford but we’re obliged to share the information). Vehicles should be collected by 10am the next day if you are leaving them overnight.

Please find this handy-dandy leaflet that the venue have provided.

Photography on the day & phones

We ask that you don’t take any photos during the wedding ceremony. Photos are of course very welcome during the wedding reception.

Registry

The most important thing to us is your presence at our wedding and as we have already set up our home together we haven't created a wedding registry. If you do wish to give a gift, a contribution to our honeymoon would be greatly appreciated.

Travel

Burford unfortunately doesn’t have its own train station, but it is readily available by train stations and local buses nearby.

Travelling by Train:

Charlbury station (Paddington-Oxford-Worcester line)

Kemble station (Swindon - Cheltenham line)

www.nationalrail.co.uk

The taxi rank at Kemble is not often manned and there isn’t one at Charlbury, so you will have to book ahead. PLEASE AVOID ALDSWORTH.

Travelling by Taxi:

Please see our ‘Travel & Stay’ page for a full list of local taxi services. We recommend booking ahead.
